My version of rich🫶 I spend an average of $500 My version of rich🫶

I spend an average of $500 on a round trip ticket to go abroad, sometimes less with points.

I select budget airlines and choose the longer connection time if it saves me money.

I stay exclusively in hostel dorms for an average of $10 per night (unless it’s a travel agent sponsored trip).

I take public transportation everywhere.

I am not rich by any means. I got scholarships to study abroad during college. I taught English abroad while traveling. I saved a ton of money while working at my old 9-5s.

Yes, it’s a privilege to travel, but I make sacrifices to prioritize it. I choose to spend my money on traveling instead of a new car, designer clothes, eating out, etc.

$4000 later😅 I didn’t expect to have that man $4000 later😅 I didn’t expect to have that many repairs on my van, but it happens! I wish I had put more money on the side for situations like this!

Everyone has their own timeline for their van buil Everyone has their own timeline for their van build!🚐Don’t compare yourself to van lifers who quit their jobs and build out their vans in a few weeks with no building experience.

I have also noticed that a lot of van lifers have loans for their van/build. I paid for my van in cash and slowly built it out so it was completely paid in full🙌🏻

P. S. There’s nothing wrong with taking out a loan if you can pay it back, but it took me longer to build because I wanted to be debt free!

True story in real time😜 Currently in my van in True story in real time😜 Currently in my van in a parking lot because everything was annoying me🤣
